Oh my goodness Gail. What an inspirational trot down memory lane for me. I worked two summer seasons at Gara Rock Hotel whilst at school (I’m 69 now!) then went back there whilst expecting my third child, with my 2 year old twins, in 1988. I now paint and draw, though landscape isn’t my ‘thing’ per se, I’m inspired by your video to land myself back there on the coastal path with pencils and paints. I’d love to know where the rental house is too. Can you share the info with me? Lynda
Hi Lynda, how amazing! I was a lovely spot to be stranded. The hotel is going strong. The house we stayed in was in the short terrace of Coastguard Cottages, up on Prawle Point. I think a few of them might be holiday rentals. Please do tag me if you end up making work back there xxx
