Painting Amit Ghose for Appearance Matters conference
At last I can share with you that CAR have commissioned me to paint a portrait of their conference speaker Amit Ghose
Happy Sunday,
The Centre for Appearance Research at the University of the West of England is "the world's largest research group focusing on the role of appearance and body image in people's lives".
At last I can share with you that CAR have commissioned me to paint a portrait of their conference speaker Amit Ghose. The painting will be unveiled at their 10th Appearance Matters Conference in June.
Portraying a sitter with a visible difference, and with such audience and charisma as Amit, is a great opportunity to explore representation, beauty standards, confidence, and the message he wants to convey with his image.
We will be considering options, and planning the portrait in a LIVE sketch & chat, together with Dr Maia Thornton from CAR.

Here's an example of the sort of content Amit shares, hopefully you can appreciate why I'm so looking forward to sharing the portrait journey with him, and you!
Another exciting aspect is that the space where the portrait will hang is HUGE, so a chance for me to work a lot larger than ever before. Luckily, Cass Art have generously sponsored the materials for this project!
Have a great week,
Gxxx
