5 sleeps to go...
After weeks of varnishing, framing, and cataloguing, there are now only 5 sleeps until my first solo show this decade - Eeek!
Happy Monday. After weeks of varnishing, framing, and cataloguing, there are now only 5 sleeps until my first solo show this decade - Eeek!
The exhibition catalogue is now online for viewing
There is more information about the show below, but ALSO, my giant fornicating snail picture will be in The Mall Galleries next week! It's even bigger than the one they showed last year. I do love the SWLA - there are lots of birds and hares in the show, so I'm delighted to be representing the gastropods lower down the food chain, with their picturesque reproductive behaviour. Click on this image to see the online catalogue, or even better, visit the show in person (closed on Tuesday 22nd).
OK, back to the Weston show:
EARLY BIRD ACCESS - The catalogue will be quietly 'activated for sales' on Friday morning. This is not going to be publicised, but as Inner Circle, I'm letting you know in case there's something you want to snaffle. You will be able to click through from the catalogue to purchase online via my website. The gallery will stick a red dot on the physical picture, and contact you to arrange collection/postage.
The gallery show opens to the public this Saturday from 10am-4pm, with the Private View from 6-8pm. No tickets or fancy frocks needed, just bring your fine self. Extra art-loving guests welcome.
Opening hours for the show:
10-3pm Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
10-4pm Wednesday & Saturday
There is a big buzz in Weston - last week the long awaited renovation of the derelict Birnbeck Pier (featured on the poster above) started. I have spent far too long watching the crane, boats and hardhats over the live webcam.
To support this initiative, one of several very substantial uplifts for this historic town, I have donated a portrait commission, usually worth over £500. The Birnbeck Regeneration Trust are raffling this prize, the last tickets will be available at the Private View, and the draw will be at 7.30 that evening:
Meet The Artist - I will be in the gallery next Wednesday (23rd) from 2-4pm, delighted to chat/show people around.
Portrait Demo - I will be starting the raffle prize portrait in the gallery on the last day of the show (Saturday 26th). Times tbc with whoever wins the prize.
Original Sketch Sale - only available in person - gallery visitors will be able to browse a selection of loose sketches for only £40 each. This was a very popular element of my Open Studio last year, and there's a whole year's worth of new material to choose from.
Thank you, have a great week, I hope to see you soon... and would be very grateful if you could use the buttons below to share the show with your network, or forward this email,
Gail xxx
