A wish, a poem, a podcast
Dear
A quickie to wish you a wonderful Christmas, and to thank you for your interest, support, and encouragement throughout 2023.
After a year of inching through Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" my selfish wish is for a few quiet hours to get some momentum up with it - reading a novel just feels so decadent! I hope you can think of a do-able wish for yourself, in amongst the festivities?
I don't tend to share much politics, news, or charity content - you no doubt have better sources. But I guess we all intensely feel the stark contrast between the Christmas we're about to have, and those around the world in dire straits. Forgive me for being a bit downbeat, but here's a poem I found that feels relevant. Margaret Atwood again.

Do you have a poem to recommend that resonates for you?
... and in case you thought you'd got away without ANYTHING from me...
There's a wonderful "new kid on the block" in the world of art journalism: Sophie Skelton. Sophie's website "Behind The Artist" has been an overnight success - a treasure trove of written interviews with top contemporary artists.
Sophie has some great artists lined up for her new podcast... so I was delighted and flattered to be her first guest. We went frothy, and we went thoughtful - hope you might enjoy a listen while peeling the sprouts:

Drop me a line if you have any news, ideas, questions, views on the podcast, a poetry recommendation, or just want to discuss the price of lemons.
Otherwise, see you in 2024, have a good one!
